the music presented here was recorded at my zwischenraum recording space back in november 2007, just before i set out to oberhausen gasometer for a live performance. this was the final rehearsal.

to me, the gasometer performance was a dream come true, simply because i had witnessed lightwave playing there in 1996. they were opening the "ich -- phoenix" exhibition with the music they had created for the poirier installation "mundus subterraneus". this concert gave an entirely different spin to the direction ['ramp] was going to take.

much to my amazement, there were quite a few spectators and casual visitors around, even though it was fairly cold inside the venue (but nowhere near as cold as in december 2010 when "music to walk through" was recorded). i had the pleasure to open a series of concerts -- later in the afternoon, most visitors would leave for the centro shopping mall nearby, with the remaining performers playing all alone in the cold darkness.

the recording of the actual concert was later released as "cryotainer -- music for gasometers" in a limited edition of 25 copies.

Stephen Parsick, born in Moers/Germany in 1972, got in touch with electronic music when he was still in his toddler days. From 1983 to 1990 he took musical lessons in his hometown. In 1996, he founded his own band ['ramp]:
